About this tour
An audio-guided city tour that combines viewpoints with the history of Ålesund. The bus drives through the town centre, where Art Nouveau buildings line the streets, and along Brosundet, the canal at the historic core of the town.
You pass the Art Nouveau Centre and Ålesund Church, a stone church, and head towards Skarbøvika and the Hessa viewpoint, in a district outside the historic centre.
The tour ends with a stop at the Aksla viewpoint, with a view over the town, the surrounding islands and the Sunnmøre Alps.
Itinerary
- Departure: Ålesund pier.
- City sightseeing: through the town centre and along Brosundet.
- Hessa viewpoint: photo stop, just outside the city centre.
- Aksla viewpoint: a view of the city centre, the archipelago and the Sunnmøre Alps. From Aksla you can walk 418 steps down to the city park.
- Arrival: Ålesund pier.
The order of the stops may vary. If the winter road to Aksla is not safe, another point of interest is chosen instead.
Meeting point
Our bus will be located in the parking lot between the Ålesund Rutebilstasjon (Ålesund Bus Station) and the pier. Look for the bus or minibus with the company name "EXCURSIONS.NO".
